Privacy policy
WayNamed (run by Graham Sandel) collects only what it needs to answer you and to do the work clients ask for. There's no tracking, no advertising and no selling of your information.
Who this covers
This policy covers this website, the free AI visibility check and the client results page. It's run by WayNamed (run by Graham Sandel), based in Lexington, SC. Questions about your information: email grahamsandel@gmail.com.
What's collected and why
- The contact form: your name, business name, town, email, phone if you give it, and your message. Used to reply to you and, if you become a client, to set up your account. Your phone number is only used to reply about your request, never for marketing calls or texts.
- Client logins: your email, a scrambled version of your password (the password itself is never stored), and when you last signed in. Used to let you see your own results and nobody else's.
- Information about client businesses: public details such as the business name, website, Google Business Profile and directory listings, plus what AI assistants say when asked about local businesses. Google Maps details are shown live and not stored, as Google's rules require. Only Google's place ID is kept.
- Server logs: your IP address, browser type, the page you asked for and the time. Kept to keep the site secure and working, and deleted automatically as newer logs replace them, usually within a few weeks. IP addresses are also counted briefly to limit repeated sign-in attempts and form spam; those counts aren't stored.
What isn't done
- No analytics, tracking pixels or advertising cookies, and no third-party scripts on any page.
- Your information is never sold, rented or shared for advertising.
- No marketing emails unless you've asked for them. Every email has a way to opt out, as the CAN-SPAM Act requires.
Who else handles it
A few services help run the site. Each only gets what it needs:
- Google Cloud hosts the website, the database and the nightly backups, in the United States.
- AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and Perplexity) receive questions about local businesses, such as “who's a good roofer in Lexington, SC” or a business's opening hours. They never receive contact form messages, client logins or anyone's personal contact details.
- Google Maps Platform provides public business details when a check runs.
- Email: replies are sent from Graham Sandel's own email account.
Information may also be disclosed if the law requires it.
How long it's kept
- Contact form messages: until they're no longer needed, or sooner if you ask for them to be deleted.
- Client accounts and results: while you're a client, then deleted on request or when no longer needed.
- Backups: 30 days, then deleted automatically.
- Server logs: a few weeks, as described above.
Keeping it safe
The site only works over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Passwords are stored scrambled, saved service keys are encrypted, sign-in attempts are limited, and only Graham Sandel can see contact messages and client data. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach ever affected your information, you'd be told as South Carolina law requires.
Your choices
You can ask to see the information held about you, correct it, or have it deleted: email grahamsandel@gmail.com. You'll get an answer within 30 days. Deleting your information also closes any client login.
Children
This site is for businesses. It isn't meant for children under 13, and information from them isn't knowingly collected.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes too. Big changes will also be pointed out to clients by email. See also the terms.
